Quick Checks

1. Is Wi-Fi/Ethernet connected? - Check taskbar icon

2. Is internet working? - Try loading a website

3. Restart your router - Unplug 30 seconds, replug

Detailed Troubleshooting

Step 1: Check Network Status

1. Click the network icon in taskbar

2. Check you have a connection

3. If showing "No internet," continue below

Step 2: Run Network Troubleshooter

1. Press Win + I > Network & internet

2. Click Advanced network settings

3. Click Network troubleshooter

4. Follow the prompts

Step 3: Check IP Address

1. Press Win + R, type cmd, press Enter

2. Type: ipconfig

3. Look for "IPv4 Address" - should be like 192.168.x.x

4. If it says 169.254.x.x, you have no IP (see below)

Step 4: Release and Renew IP

1. In Command Prompt, type: ipconfig /release

2. Then type: ipconfig /renew

3. Check if you have internet now

Step 5: Flush DNS

1. In Command Prompt, type: ipconfig /flushdns

2. Try loading websites again

Step 6: Check Network Adapter

1. Press Win + X > Device Manager

2. Expand Network adapters

3. Right-click your Wi-Fi or Ethernet adapter

4. Check if it has a warning icon

5. If so, update the driver

Step 7: Reset Network

1. Settings > Network & internet > Advanced network settings

2. Click Network reset

3. Follow the prompts

4. Restart PC
