Problem

Files won't sync to OneDrive, or you see sync errors. Your files may be outdated or not appearing on other devices.

Step 1: Check OneDrive Status

1. Look at the OneDrive icon in the taskbar (cloud icon)

2. If it shows a red X or error, click it to see details

3. Note the specific error message

Step 2: Verify You're Signed In

1. Click the OneDrive icon in the taskbar

2. Click "Sign in" or check the account shown

3. Ensure you're signed in with your company email

4. If not, sign out and sign back in

Step 3: Restart OneDrive

1. Right-click the OneDrive icon in the taskbar

2. Select "Close OneDrive"

3. Press Win + S, search for "OneDrive", and open it

4. Wait for it to sync

Step 4: Check Sync Settings

1. Click the OneDrive icon → "Help & Settings" → "Settings"

2. Go to the "Account" tab

3. Ensure the correct folders are selected for sync

4. Check "Files on-demand" settings if files aren't downloading

Step 5: Free Up Space

OneDrive may pause if storage is full:

1. Check your OneDrive storage at onedrive.com

2. Delete unnecessary files

3. Empty the Recycle Bin in OneDrive

4. Consider freeing up local disk space

Step 6: Reset OneDrive

1. Close OneDrive completely

2. Press Win + R, type %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset

3. Press Enter

4. Wait 1 minute, then open OneDrive again

Step 7: Check for Large or Problematic Files

1. Files over 100GB may have issues

2. Files with special characters in names can cause sync problems

3. Rename files to remove: \/:*?"<>|

4. Remove files from OneDrive that are currently open in another program

Step 8: Check Network Connection

1. Ensure you have a stable internet connection

2. If on VPN, ensure it's connected

3. Try opening a website to confirm internet access

Step 9: Repair OneDrive

1. Press Win + R, type control, press Enter
